MedLife applies the Fairtrade standards and hopes to receive the Fairtrade seal once the production chain has stabilised. 

In Liberia, rice is mainly grown in small-scale farming structures. For the small farmers, trading according to Fairtrade standards means a more stable income and additional income, which they invest in projects of their choice. MedLife supports the further education of the farmers with training courses in the plant and technical areas.
